Renee Rooney Renee’s governance and leadership experience spans education, community and industry groups and currently includes being Chair of Development West Coast, a charitable trust set up to manage, invest and distribute income from a fund received from the Government to promote sustainable employment opportunities, and generate sustainable economic benefits for the West Coast. Renee is co-owner/operator of a dairy farm business in the Lake Brunner catchment, inland from Greymouth. Through various roles at both local and national level, she has demonstrated her commitment to supporting development in the West Coast region, and to the food and fibre sector of Aotearoa. Renee is a long-serving member of Federated Farmers West Coast Executive and is currently vice president. Previous governance roles include board member of Tai Poutini Polytechnic | Te Pūkenga, Chair of Lake Brunner School, Chair of Paparoa Range School, Westland Milk Products Shareholder Sub-Committee, Federated Farmers of NZ National Dairy Executive, and on advisory and working groups focusing on the West Coast region and local schools.
