We have been working with representatives from the industry and vocational education sector on the review and development of the skill standards since November 2024. The draft skill standards are now open for industry feedback. We encourage you to review them and provide your responses via the link: Have your say. The draft skill standards are: Plan and fell trees using advanced techniques in a tree felling operation Prepare for and execute machine-assist tree felling as machine operator Fell minor species trees Prepare for and execute machine-assisted tree felling as a tree feller Manage a site for machine-assisted tree felling operation Our MAF Technical Advisory Group will review your feedback. Please make sure your feedback includes your suggested changes and the reasons for the changes. If we understand the “why” of your feedback we can refine the skill standards so that they meet the needs of the industry. Please provide your feedback by Tuesday 25 February 2025.
