Quality Assurance and Enhancement team take action following feedback

Hui Whakapūmau site visits have been a consistent priority for the Muka Tangata Quality Assurance and Enhancement team. These visits are part of our whanaungatanga approach to quality assurance and allow us to gain valuable feedback from providers and schools.

In 2023, we undertook 30 online or face-to-face site visits throughout the year. During these sessions, we heard from multiple schools and providers that they felt under pressure when post-moderation material was requested, and the material was expected to be made available to our team within a month to six weeks.

Always eager to improve processes, our Quality Assurance and Enhancement team took this feedback on board. This year, providers and schools were advised in February which unit standards were going to be requested for post moderation, and when that material would need to be submitted by throughout the year.

The response to this change was positive. The team at EIT told us: “E mihi ana kit e tau hou! Thank you for following up and actioning providers concerns and questions – what a great way to start the year.”

It was noted that supplying the information early in the year allows for providers and schools to plan accordingly and enables discussions to take place if any queries arise around which unit standards were requested for moderation.

Following the great feedback, this process will be standard practice for our Quality Assurance and Enhancement team going forward.
