Have your say on new skill standards for Field Hydrology

The New Zealand Diploma in Field Hydrology (Level 5) is currently under review. As part of the process, we are happy to share the newly developed skill standards for public consultation.

Your input will help ensure the standards remain relevant, up to date, and aligned with industry needs. Skill standards will be replacing the current unit standards to future-proof qualification 2344 – New Zealand Diploma in Field Hydrology (Level 5).

Six skills standards have been included in this survey. The draft skill standards are:

Skill standard 1 – Undertake discharge measurement by wading

Skill standard 2 – Operate hydrometric stations

Skill standard 3 – Process hydrometric data

Skill standard 4 – Undertake discharge measurement using various methods and platforms

Skill standard 5 – Construct hydrometric rating curves

Skill standard 6 – Plan and coordinate hydrometric station installations
