Muka Tangata presenting at Work-Integrated Learning New Zealand International Conference 2023 April 20th, 2023 Muka Tangata are presenting about our work to improve learning in work contexts at the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Conference hosted by the University of Canterbury at Te Pae, Ōtautahi Christchurch this week. This year’s WIL conference is exploring how we can better integrate learning in a work context with presenters from universities, vocational education, researchers and industry. Chief Executive Jeremy Baker and General Manager Qualifications and Standards Craig Langdon will discuss our new approach to learner pathways discussion document and how we are incorporating this approach in our qualifications reviews this year. Published in January, A New Approach to Learner Pathways examines how good design of qualification, skills standards, and micro-credential design can enable greater flexibility in vocational education and training. On Friday morning, General Manager Quality Assurance and Enhancement (QAE) Lester Hoare and Marianne Farrell, QAE Lead, with Dave Marr of SAARA, will look at ‘What does excellent external moderation look like and how does it support WIL?’. Based on two reports published this year, (National External Moderation Review and Te Whakatōnga) Muka Tangata are working to incorporate mātauranga and te ao Māori into our mahi and to offer and support others to do the same.
