Review of Muka Tangata Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR) March 27th, 2024 Muka Tangata is responsible for the development and maintenance of Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR) documents. Each CMR document covers the requirements which Tertiary Education Organisations must meet to assess against the specific unit standards, and the moderation process that organisations with consent to assess need to engage in. The CMRs have not been updated since they were transferred to the remit of the Workforce Development Councils (WDCs) in 2021. Muka Tangata has found that CMRs do not align with current WDC practices and requirements. We are now undertaking a project to review all CMRs that relate to food and fibre industries to ensure they are relevant and fit for purpose. Our expectation at the completion of the review is that the Muka Tangata CMRs: accurately reflect Muka Tangata’s quality assurance and moderation requirements. provide the current and relevant criteria to deliver and assess unit standards and skill standards developed by industry. lists the domains, unit standards, and skill standards related to Muka Tangata only. are easily understood and easy for providers to follow. Muka Tangata currently has four CMRs. Through the review, we plan to combine these and have one CMR for all industries managed by Muka Tangata with appendices that relates to specific industry-related requirements. Expressions of interest for providers to be involved in this project are now closed. Thank you to those providers have indicated their interest in participating in the review.
