Wool micro-credential development update

In August we initiated a project to work with industry to develop four micro-credentials to support the wool harvesting industry.

The development phase of the Wool Harvesting Micro-Credential Development Project began in earnest on Tuesday 19 September, when Muka Tangata hosted representatives from the Wool industry for a one-day wānanga. The event was held online to enable maximum participation from across the motu.

Representatives from the shearing and wool handling industries, professional associations, and industry representative bodies worked together using a wānanga format to discuss opportunities that the project offers to industry and ākonga. Next steps include creating the project steering, working and feedback groups, reflecting on the information gathered in the wānanga, and subsequently returning to industry with draft micro credentials and standards for feedback.
