Muka Tangata members of the Aquaculture New Zealand (AQNZ) workforce steering group recently attended the 2023 AQNZ conference in Nelson, as well as a site visit to New Zealand King Salmon.

King Salmon is a quality product which is sold around New Zealand and is highly valued overseas on the export market. New Zealand King Salmon is a rare and unique species which requires specific processing which cannot be easily automated.  This means it is essential for staff to have the right skills, knowledge, and training to do the job, as this product could not be produced without them.
